Sometimes, when i run or amcheck or amdump, amandad dies (stays defunct) on the clint, and i get no answers on the server:
[user@client] ps xauwww | grep am
root     23627  0.0  0.0     0    0 ?        Z    14:46   0:00 [amandad-2.4.4 <defunct>]

But this only happens on dual processor machines, whether they are running single or more cpu kernel version.
Here's the amandad-2.4.4.(...).debug:
Amanda 2.4 REP HANDLE 000-C03A0808 SEQ 1050500600
OPTIONS features=fffffeff9ffe0f;
----

amandad-2.4.4: time 0.004: got packet:

----

amandad-2.4.4: time 0.004: pid 23586 finish time Wed Apr 16 14:43:55 2003

I run Redhat 7.3, on a HP LC2000, with two 1000 Mhz PIII CPUs, with 1 Gb Ram and Amanda 2.4.4 on client and Amanda 2.4.3 on server.
If I remove one of the two CPUs from the server, amandad runs without any problems.
Any ideas about what the problem may be?
I've searched amanda-users mailing list, and i've found nothing.

Thanks in advance.
