Folks,

We are in the process of putting Sharepoint in and I'm looking at how exactly I should be backing the system up. I see that IBM no longer bundles the Sharepoint TDP, so we have to go out and purchase licenses from Avepoint.

Is that TDP client required? Sharepoint is essentially an SQL system, so is the TDP for SQL Server sufficient? For those of you that use the DocAve product, what advantages does it provide over a straight SQL backup?
