Okay, so the move data command did not make it into 7.1.3, it is currently
worked on and will become available some time in the future.
IBM talked about this at lenght at the TSM Symposium in Dresden this past
week.
If you want to switch from a file type of storagepool to a directory
container storage pool and you have 20%+ free space they suggest that you
can create the directory container storagepool on the same filesystems that
contain the file device type storagepool and then change the management
classes to point to the directory container storagepool.

This way you get the advantages of the new type of storagepool for all new
data entering the system but not for the existing data that doesn't expire,
you will have to wait for the move command in a later version of Spectrum
Protect to be able to move the remaining data to the directory container
storage pool.

The use cases I see currently for the directory container storagepools now
are mostly for new setups at customer sites that don't require an
additional tape-based copypool, these must then of course replicate to a
customer owned second site or our cloud based location.

I really like the fact that the server requirements did not go thru the
roof for the inline deduplication and that the disk type for the larger
setups in now based on nearline disks due to the fact the data only needs
to be writen once and not writen (backup) read (indentify) and then partly
read/writen again (reclaim).
