There's a few things you can do:

1. Enable CRCDATA on your storage pools. Every file version that is stored
in your storage pools will have a CRC value stored in the database. AUDIT
VOLUME can use this information to determine if the data on the volume are
valid.

2. Run AUDIT VOLUME with FROMDATE/TODATE to cover all the volumes written
in that time period.

3. Regularly test restores and retrieves on random nodes and filespaces.

And of course make sure to test your TSM database backups and restores too.
