Hi,

I would say that you should do as you have always done : install atape for IBM
devices.

Hi TSM-ers!

We have been using TSM on AIX for quite a while (since ADSM 2.1) and we
always used the Atape driver. In fact I always thought one had to use
the Atape driver, unless you use a drive which isn't supported by Atape,
in that case you should use the TSM device driver.

The 6.3 installation manual states: "The Tivoli Storage Manager device
driver is preferred for use with the Tivoli Storage Manager server".

We are using a (virtual) 3584 library, should we use Atape or the TSM
device driver?

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards,

Eric van Loon
