I read it too, with some puzzlement. From the doc packaged with the
program, it appears the only item is a small enhancement that adds
better integration of incremental backups of Windows systems that run in
VMware Virtual machines if you have purchased TDP for Virtual
Environments. It appears that if you're not using that feature, you
might as well stay with the better-tested 6.2.3.0.

For now, we're continuing to deploy 5.5.3.3, due to the extreme
performance degradation of the Java-based GUI client which I have
benchmarked at 10x slower than the native MFC GUI client. I was very
dismayed to see that dsmmfc.exe had been dropped from version 6.2 for
Windows; I would rather see it returned to being the only GUI interface
on Windows. After all, at many if not most TSM shops, there are more
Windows clients than anything else. So it should be optimized for that
environment using the native interfaces of that platform, as it was
through version 5.5. Java has been nothing but trouble ever since the
6.1 clients started to appear.
