IBM specs/requirements say no but ib practice, while not supported, does
work and I am proof.

My 5.5 servers are currently library managers to my 6.1 and 6.2 servers with
no issues. Have been for many months.  Yes I am moving the function to 6.2
servers since eventually all servers will be upgraded to 6.2
