Its unfortunate that the Op Reporting has gone, prior to the Op Reporting there 
use to be a package called Tivoli Data Wherehouse that would report on Tiovoli, 
again a monsterous footprint (db2, webshephe cognos).  We eventually ended up 
buying Bocada's Backup Reporting product as you could hire a FTE to develop 
reports from scratch.  We have been trying tio use the Common Reporter for 
Fastback but it contunially fails and IBM can't seem to resolve the issue as 
we've jhad a PMR open for 6+ months ...

yes Tuncel you are correct.  I  looked into BIRT because Tivoli Common 
Reporting was using it.

However IBM's product has a considerable resource requirements and footprint 
and because it is the common reporting component for all of the Tivoli line it 
has to be all things to all men.

My goals are much less ambitious, basically a light weight reporting tool for 
current TSM data, and will hopefully run on the same class of hardware as TSM 
OR does now.
