Greetings.
When backing up a NAS, not infrequently, you mount the filesystems
Somewhere Else, if you want to avoid NDMP.
In NFS-lands, you can define a virtualmountpoint, and back up the NFS
region like any local disk. It appears as a filespace, and
incremental start and success times are maintained automatically.
Windows doesn't have an analog to the virtualmountpoint directive, but
you can still specify a path, and back it up.
But when we do so, using
dsmc incr \\cns-fs01\c$\cnsfs01 -subdir=yes -optfile="c:\program
files\tivoli\tsm\baclient\cns.opt"
the backup began / backup finished stats don't get updated.
How do you-all manage such things? Is there some other config
directive I can use which will get those stats updated?
Here's the relevant optfile, with include/excludes elided.
