Data Protection for SQL 5.5.3 does support Windows 2008 and Windows 2008
R2.

The question was in regards to SQL Server 2008 R2.
I do not believe Microsoft has given an official release date for SQL
Server 2008 R2,
but we are aware the target is 1H2010. IBM will do its best to
release support as soon as possible after the official release.
