Hi Sam,
Summarizing what have benn replied from now :
- yes, use JF2 (and not JFS anymore).
- no, RAW devices is not an option anymore for TSM 6.1 DB & LOG (but
it's still available for DISK STG Volumes !)
- no, it's not necessary to use scalable VG, normal VG caracteristics
are generally suuficient (1016PP/PV, 32PV/VG, 255 LV/VG...) for TSM DB &
LOG requirements . Moreother, Scalable VGs habe been known for some issues.
- regarding TSM 6.1 DB & LOGs, be sure to understand meaning of DB
Space, LOG Space, Active Log, Mirror Log (not mandatory), Archive Log...
and their positionning among PV, VGs... It's well explained in the
regular documentation (Infocenter guides).

We are installing a new TSM 6.1 server on an AIX 6.1 box and my UNIX
specialist has been away from AIX for several year. He is asking about
recommendations for the filespaces for the database and logs,
specifically whether or not to use the new JFS2 (enhanced JFS).
Any recommendations out there?
Thanks
