looks rather like a challenge, but doable. You certainly will have to
seperate this data from the remaining nodes in its own primary disk random
access storage pool. As I understand, all primary data stays on disk, so
while the solution does make the setup slightly more complex and all the
fragmentation stuff applies, you will get the goodies of TSM shredding and
reporting in the actlog.
The copypool will make more effort and overhead. One idea is to backup the
primary pool in a rotational manner to two dedicated tape copy pools using
only private tapes and deleting the pools rotationally. Easy and fun to
automate... . As you will be using a fixed set of volsers, you can then in
turn go and overwrite the tapes with random patterns according to your
needs with an OS/skripted tool and report to a log file.
Haven´t done this (we shred the tapes mechanically after degauss, belt and
garters), but look out for tools available (BSI and Google are your
friend).
