I think he means "Active-data" pools as in the storage pools you can
populate with the "copy activedata" command. (Introduced TSM5.4)
And yes, you can delete from active data pools without affecting the
primary copypool data.

Michael,
I imply that by "active" data pool, you are implying primary storage
pool; if that is the case then deleting a primary storage pool volume
with discardd=yes will not only remove data on the primary storage pool
volume but also any copies of the data on the copy pools.
