Yes, "driver" was something of a misnomer on my part.

On AIX, you use the standard ibmtape driver for talking to the drives, but
you'll need the ibmatl app for talking to the library.

You download it from the "drivers" page, but it's really more of a TCP/IP
application.  Runs as a daemon/service.

You configure ibmatl with the IP address of your library.  Then the piece
most people forget, you have to go to the 3494 library manager and add your
TSM server to the list of hosts the 3494 is willing to talk to.  (I don't
remember the page, but it's something like LAN settings..)
