Yes, the software will be upgraded for all instances.
Once the code is upgraded, I start each instance individually with the
"dsmserv upgradedb" command.
It might happen automatically nowadays, but I still do it just to be sure.

Shawn

Meant to say
Procedure to apply tsm code patch from 5.4.0.0 to 5.4.3.2
Under each sudo id
They have their own config directory and separate config files
Instance A
Eg: su - sudoidA
Cd config contains
Dsmserv.opt
Dsm.opt
Dsmserv.dsk
Instance B
Su - sudoidB
Cd config contains
Dsmserv.opt
Dsm.opt
Dsmserv.dsk
Devconfig.
And so on

Subject: Running multiple tsm instances - applying patch
we have 3 aix tsm server instances running under different sudo id's on
one physical aix server.
Is it sufficient to apply tsm code 5.4.3.2 once from 5.4.0.0 and all 3
instances will be updated?
As long as I backup database and config files under those instances
What is the procedure when applying patches to tsm code?
