Certainly, a place to look is the Exchange logging, to see what is
going on with that facility. It could be that there's a current
situation with Exchange, or that it needs some patches, or that
something external is causing the problem (perhaps a misconceived
NTbackup being run on the same files?). You've had this problem as
far back as July 2004, so there may be something odd going on there.
