Hi Tim

We use Informix 7.3 IDS for reasons not needed here.
I use TDP for Informix on AIX 5.3 and it works like a charm.
My logs and DB's go to tape.
We use onbar instead of on tape as the API for the TDP client is better 
geared for this.

If you are at Informix release 10 or higher, it's built in. Like DB2.
The
instructions on how to configure this for TSM is in the Informix Backup
Guide. Prior to that you need to license the TDP agent.

I found an IBM article where this was done using Unix

I have a system with an Informix database that is currently
dumping to an internal server tape drive.

I need to dump this to disk so that TSM can manage it.
