With the older drivers, you must be absolutely specific on the kernel
level, down to the sub-sub-sub level.

For that kernel level, look in the lin_taped archives at:

for x64 (you did not specify)

ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/devdrvr/Linux/archive/RHEL4/lin_tape-1.12.1-2.6.9-67.EL.x86_64.rpm.bin

for x32

ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/devdrvr/Linux/archive/RHEL4/lin_tape-1.12.1-2.6.9-67.EL.i386.rpm.bin

Note the file name is the compatible kernel level.

Recently, IBM has changed the drivers to be compilable source instead of
the bin/rpm files, to get away from constantly chasing kernel levels.

[ADSM-L] Problem on connecting IBM LTO 2 3580 to TSM 5.4.0 ?






Hi,


I have problem on implementing TSM 5.4.0 in Linux RHEL 4 Kernel 2.6.9-67.
The Tape Device doesn't able to connect to TSM using the standard device
provided by this Operating System. We have looked for the match driver
provided by IBM, unfortunately we found only one that support the RHEL 4
Kernel 2.6.9-34. Does any body here have the solution to connect this Tape
Device so that TSM can able to use it ?
