There were no other processes running, which is strange.
I have a serious issue with IBM anyhow regarding their locking of
tables/records for select queries. Updates and writes obviously, but
selects......

Thanks. I am busy trying Richard Simms advise to look for the history on
the volume in question.

I will provide feedback.
