Aside from the logos, and who provides the support, the ML60x0 and the
TS3310 appear to be the same library. (Make sure the slot counts are the
same, etc.)

Dell sells (wink wink) "Tandberg" LTO4 tape drives in theirs. Tandberg
doesn't make LTO drives AFAICT, and the drive firmware on the Tandberg
site includes "IBM" in the file names.

The last ML60x0 I bought, Dell was practically giving them away.

That said, the ML60x0/TS3310/i500 don't compare with the 3584/TS3500.
Yes, there is some feature/price overlap between fully loaded midrange
library and a minimally loaded enterprise library, but the midrange
library is comprised almost entirely of flimsy plastic and sheet metal.

I didn't have any specific problem with the ML60x0, but I also didn't
use it for 5-10 years.

YMMV

Anyone using the Dell ML6020 library? I believe it's a re-brand of the
Scalar i500. I have this library on one of my TSM servers but thinking
of expanding it and upgrading the drives to use it exclusively for my
enterprise library. It would be a lot cheaper than going with a new IBM
TS3500.
Any negative comments on this library from anyone?

Thanks,
Johnny
