Hi Richard
By contiguous space, I presume there should be enough from the table
below
Available Assigned Maximum Maximum Page Total
Used Pct Max.
Space Capacity Extension Reduction Size Usable
Pages Util Pct
(MB) (MB) (MB) (MB) (bytes) Pages
Util
--------- -------- --------- --------- ------- ---------
--------- ----- -----
40,000 30,000 10,000 12,740 4,096 7,680,000
3,324,622 43.3 43.3
I have 10GB free at the moment, but you are quite right. IBM should
address this, as in all my years in IT Development etc, selects and
queries should not lock a database/table.
Thanks

Adrian -
Beyond using caution to avoid excessive database demands, one thing I
would check is for there being a substantial amount of contiguous
free space at the end of your database, to support the Select
activity, so as to avoid that further complication in all the
activity. Beyond that, IBM has to address what TSM Manager is
doing. (Why I try to avoid GUIs whenever realistic.)
