Hi,
   
  I am trying to create a third instance of TSM on the server server.
  here are the step I have taken so far. 
   
  1- mkdir -p /usr/tivoli/tsm/server3/bin
   
  2- vi /usr/tivoli/tsm/server3/bin/dsmserv3.opt
    COMMmethod TCPIP
TCPPORT 1533
SHMPORT 4283
TCPADMINPORT 4283
HTTPPORT 1533
COMMmethod SHAREDMEM
COMMmethod HTTP
LANGuage en_US
DEVCONFIG /usr/tivoli/tsm/server3/bin/devconfig3.out
VOLHIST /usr/tivoli/tsm/server3/bin/volhist3.out

  3- export DSMSERV_DIR=/usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin  (this is my default binary 
directory)
   
  4- export DSMSERV_CONFIG=/usr/tivoli/tsm/server3/bin/dsmserv3.opt
   
  5- dsmfmt -db /usr/tivoli/tsm/server3/bin/db3.dsm 20
  6- dsmfmt -log /usr/tivoli/tsm/server3/bin/log3.dsm 10
   
  7- dsmserv format 1 /usr/tivoli/tsm/server3/bin/log3.dsm (Here is where I am 
stalling) 
  Getting the following error.
   
  ANR7800I DSMSERV generated at 02:38:00 on Jul 13 2007.

  Same error message if I run dsmserv format on the db volume.
   
   
  The funny thing is I did created the second instance a while back and I 
thought i followed the above steps. for some reason I can't get back that stage 
this time.
