The dsmerror/dsmsched.log files are the first place to go look what exactly
the Failed 12 error is. Sometimes it will say 'snapshot error', sometimes
is 'Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy error', etc., At times you can do ' q
actlog=-24  search=nodename' , to look deeper into where it hangs. (note:
actlog --> fill in how far back you want in hours) .

Does anyone know a link where one can bookmark it? Thanks.

We see these, as well.  You need to check the dsmerror/dsmsched.log files
on the client.  That is how I was able to determine the error message
associated with the rc=12 and resolved the problem.

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone would happen to know what the failed 12
error message means?  And where can I find more information on why the
client failed with this error?
