Yes, and you can set the nextstg for the existing lib to point to the
storage pools created in the newer libs and trigger migration, but again
that is sort of awkward and short term.
- you'd like to use all the drives during normal backup processing and not
just the drives in the original library.
- there is a lot unnecessary overhead in that.

But you could temporarily use two of the three new libraries in this way to
get the offsite vols into the libraries. Then you could use the 3rd to begin
breaking out some clients to a new storage pool ( and have 4 drives in play
for backups.)
Finally you might look at dropping the reclamation trigger to colsolidate
the existing volumes into fewer volumes to get to the point where you can
use another library to break out clients to.

Eventually you want to get to where all the drives in all the libraries can
be in play for backups and not doing work bouncing backups between
libraries.

Hello Vinicius,

I think you will have to migrate the volumes so that the data is kept the
same. You probably need to "move data" or "move nodedata"
That way you are moving the data from the existing library to the new
library and then you have the old library that can be still be used for
other purposes.

Juan

Hi Juan, in this env we are a little bit different

We don't want to deactivate the old library (the library it self is not
old, it has the same config as the new lib, LTO3 FC, 44 sltos)

What I want to do is like this:

Today I have a pool: SP-FILESYSTEM-LTO -> LTOCLASS1 -> LTOLIB1
In this pool I have 100 tapes off library

With new library: SP-FILESYSTEM-LTO-NEW -> LTOCLASSNEW -> LTOLIBNEW
And pass this tapes that are off to this lib, without deactivating de
LTOLIB1

Hey,
We just did something similar.

we started with 1 old acsls library (library=lsm2 and acsid=1) 4
tapedrives
and 300 cartridges

we ended with 1 new acsls library (libray=lsm2 acsid=2) 4 tapedrives and
300 cartridges.

1)created the 4 new tape drives in the lsm2 library that were physically
located in the new library (silo acsid=2)

2)disabled the 4 old tape drives in the old silo (acsid=1)

3)updated the old lsm2 library to have acsid=2

4)enabled the 4 new tape drives

5)then we physically ejected from the old library and entered into the
  new library.
all worked fine.
Hope this helps,
Juan Perla
