I've been looking for such a beast as well. There is a document for Windows
(http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21164812) but none for Linux.

What we did to BMR a normal linux box is:
* create a bootable linux CD (Knoppix) with a TSM client on it
* boot from this cd
* mount the disk drives
* restore all filesystems with the TSM client
* create all pseudo file systems not beeing backed up by TSM (/dev, /proc ...)
on the restored disk drives
* reboot

Betreff: [ADSM-L] Restore Linux system from TSM

I have a VMware virtual Linux server that had its DASD on an iSCSI device.
There was a failure of the iSCSI NAS device and the virtual image files
were lost. I have started over by creating a
very basic out-of-the-box Linux server (i.e. no service pack, no add-ons,
etc.)

I was just wondering if there are any white papers or other documents to
describe the best practices for doing
a restore of a Linux server via TSM?
