Curtis, If you had read the context more carefully, you would see that
Richard's "skimpy" comment referred *not* to the TSM 5.4 enhancements
but rather to IBM/Tivoli's documentation of those enhancements:
        >>Is there any documentation on that ??

I found the "lipstick on a pig" analogy inappropriate, but mad funny!
[the ugly sort of humor that all/most/some/few/none laugh about in private?]
Does anybody know the real source?

Skimpy? Really? I think that the ability to collocate active data is
the coolest new feature I've seen since collocation. A user who can buy
enough SATA disk to hold all their active files should get a HUGE
benefit from this feature. Don't you think so?

(This is why it's funny that someone on this list a while ago accused me
of being the anonymous source that referred to that feature as "lipstick
on a pig.")

Hi all

I'm looking for a red book or red paper that explain all the
changes and
new features in TSM 5.4

Is there any documentation on that ??

Hi, Luc -

IBM is a bit behind on that...
There is
   http://www-306.ibm.com/software/tivoli/products/storage-mgr/
enhancements-v5.4.html
but very skimpy compared to its predecessors.
There is no TSM 5.4 Technical Guide yet.
Mostly, the changes are outlined in the front of the respective manuals.
