hi,
we are trying to install device drivers on HP-UX 11.23 on Itanium
but we are not lucky , all we can get is stape and tsmtape, but
no atdd which worked fine on 11.11i HP-UX PA RISC machines,

storage agent works fine, but
i can not open any dev/rmt with tapeutil all i get is

Enter device special file name (e.g., /dev/rmt/1mnb): /dev/rmt/tsmmt1
Select open mode (1=read-write, 2=read, 3=write, 4=append): 2

Open failed: No such device

ioscan gives this :
tape      1  3/0/13/1/0.94.23.255.0.0.0  tsmtape  CLAIMED     DEVICE

                          /dev/rmt/tsmmt1

any ideas ? clues ? bullets ? whatever ? :-)
