Hi *SMers,

we are currently replacing all tapes with new ones. This is done once a year.
In the past we just replaced old scratch tapes with new ones, labelled them
and off we go. The procedure for dbbackup or dbsnapshot media was similar.

This year we experience a new Problem: We have set up DRM and use a lot of
scripting to control the flow of DRM tapes (mountable->courier->vault and so
on).
What i am thinking about: How to get the old tapes out of that cycle? Is there
a command lile "Delete DRM <VOLNAME>" ? Or "Replace DRM <VOLNAME>" ?

I can't stop the old volumes from getting into vaultretrieve and
courierretrieve state, so i am always prompted to insert old volumes back
into the library.

Environment: TSM Server 5.1.x on AIX 4.3, Library is Overland LXM (15 Slots, 2
DLT drives).

Can someone shade a light on this?

Tanks in advance

regards guenther
