We have enough challenges getting VM Guests to behave well as TSM
clients, let alone servers.  You really want to be bleeding-edge, don't
you?

It remains unsupported, and is not recommended (bitter experience).
There is just too much traffic pushed across VMWare's virtual fiber
connections to get 10% of the throughput you get from physical
connections.
