Hi all

If I want to restore my database ( for example from yesterday), do
I need
to re-format the existing dB/log volumes or does the restore do

it needs to do in this regard?

Once a DB or Recovery Log volume has been formatted, it remains
formatted. Any subsequent restoral can then use the volume as-is.

Raw Logical Volumes have no formatting requirement, so are a
generally attractive choice, particularly for DR situations, where
time matters.
