This is not enough information to troubleshoot this problem.
I suspect some type of configuration problem with
Data Protection for SQL.

What is the result of this command?
    TDPSQL QUERY TSM
Does it return valid information?

If so, can you try just using one stripe for backup?
   TDPSQLC BACKUP master FULL /STRIPES=1
Does this work?
