Actually it's surprising that your inspected:backed-up ratio isnt closer than 
it is using JBB.  I'm willing to guess that you are excluding files that are 
still getting tracked by JBB, so it sends the whole list, but only a subset are 
really candidates for backup.  You have to manage the "excludes" in the JBB 
separate from the BA client, and it pays to keep them relatively in synch (why 
bother to track files in the JBB that you know you don't want to back up 
anyway?).

With JBB, the normal way should be :

objects inspected = objects backed up

because the JBB track changes on Filesystems and give the results to the tsm 
client.

May be, not all your drives are JBB managed.
