Amen. Programming which knows where a problem is but won't reveal it
just wastes customer time. One approach is to perform a full,
Selective backup of the file system in non-Quiet mode. Another
approach is to perform the 'dsmc i' with client tracing active. I
would first check the OS error log (maybe /var/log/messages?) and see
if there are any NFS mount points within the file system in question,
and then assure that those NFS servers are responsive.
