point in time backup not displaying certain folders

trying to do a point in time restore for a specific folder but when i change the
point in time date to say jan 1 2005 at 8:00 am the folder does not appear
if i don't do a point in time and just display inactive backups i see files in
that folder older then jan 1 2005 at 8:00
server (z/os) Version 5, Release 2, Level 3.0
client (netware) Version 5, Release 2, Level 3.0
