That sure sounds like a fault in the 3494 Library manager software.
As an embedded system, that's wholly up to the hardware folks to
pursue.  I would hope that after installing the new PC and LM
software that they applied all available LM software updates.  In any
case, they need to pursue this themselves, involving their hardware
support center contacts as necessary.

And: It would be good to hear of your experience in that PC upgrade.
We are anticipating such an upgrade in our shop, and others are
likely entering into it as well: perhaps you could share some details
on what was involved, amount of downtime, any library restart/config
issues, etc.
