If you're feeling adventurous, you could also look into file level, or pool 
level snapshots.   Both can be done natively with NSS, but I never got farther 
than researching, so ymmv.

I need some information here too. We have been doing online backups
for years, but recently ran into a problem where a couple of thousand
files (mailboxes) where not being backed up at night (of course, we
did not notice this until we needed a full restore due to volume
failure). Of course, the backup was flagged as complete by TSM, so
noone even noticed the files were not backing up. By searching the list,
it seems that either you should shutdown Groupwise during the backup,
or run an open file manager.

I would be very interested in hearing replies to this topic.
