I had run chkdsk on an ealier run and that didn't change the results. I believe 
that I saw that as a suggestion in the doc. In my next try I'll make sure to 
try it again just to be sure.

It may be a few days before I can get back into the lab because we are 
prepareing for our next disaster test.  I do plan on getting the service trace 
done.  I just didn't want you to think I was giving up when you didn't hear 
back from me for a few days.

Off-hand I do not have an immediate solution for this. One thing to try is
to use chkdsk to see if there are any inconsistencies on the volume; then
see if fixing those inconsistencies makes any difference.

If that doesn't yield anything, then can you collect a SERVICE trace of
the failing restore command and send it in with your other PMR doc (I see
you've got a PMR open for this, which is good! :-)
