I'm not sure what you mean by "ignore", but there are two ways to expire
database backups:

1. Run

  del volhist type={dbb|dbs} todate=<mm/dd/yyyy>

This deletes all full database backup (or database snapshots) tape
volumes *prior* to the date requested. **WARNING** Do not use this
command if you are using TSM's disaster recovery commands to control
vaulted tape contents.

2. Run

  set drmdbbackupexpiredays <number_of_days>

This will set the number of days to keep the database backup. This
command will expire database backups but does not allow the expired
volume to flip immediately to scratch status; instead, the expired
volume will move to the drmedia status of VAULTRETRIEVE, just like all
reclaimed volumes that have their access set to VAULT.
