Hi,
Be carefull with path. Because one of the machines can have numeration of
drives different than the new one...
Than you need to update the paths with correct values.
Also - If you for "mirroring" you understand - "TSM DB Mirros" - than -
this is not a good idea - Than you need to replace definitions for DB and
LOG in TSM server... To do this is better to use HW mirror!!!

Best Regards,
Svetoslav

Re: Question from a non-TSM person

Hi Fred!
It probably is. Breaking the mirror is an immediate action which is
database-wise somewhat comparable with a kill -9 of the TSM server. I have
had to do this in the past and TSM came up fine afterward.
Of course you will have to make sure that no clients are connected to the
server and no housekeeping processes are running during and after this
split-off.
And of course, this is NOT supported!
Why do you want to do it like this? You don't have time to FTP the
database
to the new host or to do a backup/restore of the database?!?!

I was asked if it was possible to move TSM from machine to machine by
mirroring the DB and log, breaking the mirror, moving the mirrored
portions
to a new machine, adding the old mirror volumes to dsmserv.dsk, and
bringing up the new machine as if nothing happened?
