Hmmmmmm.... I'm sorry to say it - but I'm a bit disappointed!

There are a lot of NetWare 6.0 installations out there - and to be honest,
there are for most part not much reason to upgrade it for the time being...
unless we want our backupsystem to support our NOS in future releases :o)

The statement from IBM disappoint me... especially seen in the light, that IBM
states to be cooperating closer with Novell now than ever before! - but one can
only guess if this is only regarding the Linux product??

Regarding NetWare 6.0 & 6.5 there's a major difference in the filesystem -
NetWare 6.5 is running a newer version of NSS, which will not be incorporated
in NetWare 6.0 (on this newer version you can among other things use TTS, which
allow us to use NSS on SYS:)!

Finally - this is not an attempt to start a discussion over a lost case... but
merely an expression of oppinion

Best regards
Flemming

TSA600 isn't supported anymore on NW6, and it's never been supported on NW6.5,
so you run it at your own risk now. You are correct that there was never a
TSA650, they called it TSAFS instead. I've found it pretty safe to run the
newest versions of TSAFS, you just have to be careful sometimes to set the
cache memory allocation for it to be under 25%. There's several TID's about it
on support.novell.com.

I agree. There have been numerous discussions and recommendations to avoid
TSAFS and continue to use TSANDS/TSA600.

Speaking of, AFAIK, the TSA modules for NW 6 and 6.5 are the same. I don't
recall seen a TSA650 ??

I could be wrong, but I always got the impression that more problems
started with the NW6.5 TSAFS.
They seem to be mostly ironed out now though.

This reminds me of the situation about TSM client support for NetWare 5.0.
Novell placed a very quick end-of-life to this version as well; those who
ever used it know why. As a result, TSM client versions 4 & 5 have never
supported NW 5.0. The same situation may be true here; weren't there a
pile of troubles with the versions of TSA that came with 6.0?
