Doesn't the server log also show the failed files ?

You could  get a product like TSMManager which produces reports with this
info (plus much, much more), daily !  That is what I use to bug people on
issues with their backups having problems/issues !

Anyone know of a different method in which I can determine the failed
files of my clients without having to actually look at the schedlog ?
