The 128MB is just fine.
I went through a "tuning session" with IBM TSM on MVS support, a year ago.
Talked directly with their sole TSM/MVS internals person.
He recommended the 128MB DB cache as well as 512MB for REGION.
Also recommended tweaking the MAXQUICKSIZE to 20MB from the default
internal calculation of 9.9MB !
Just make sure your system exits aren't stopping your proc from getting
the region it is asking for (IEFUSI I think).....This gave me heartburn
until I found that it was a limiting factor due to somones creative
coding.

Your BUFPOOSIZE value of 135168 is in higher side.
Try something like 32000 to start with and monitor cache hit pct.

Why does the MAX init storage show 256 MB and you have 512MB Regionsize?
Monitor the CSA TSM-usage with your Z/OS Monitor to get further
information of the storageusage (growing?). Do we again have a problem
with the MaxQuickFree bytes?
