I have two identical Dell servers running Windows 2000 server.  Both
servers were in operation for about 6 months with no issues.  Then, I
installed the Tivoli client on the servers.  After about two to three
weeks of backups running fine, the Tivoli client starts to report
skipping files during backup.  Then after a day or so, the backup
session just locks up and runs forever - i.e. normal backup is less than
15 minutes, at this point it will run for 20+ hours.  

The Windows OS will start to popup error messages as follows (the file
name will change but there is no pattern).  The messages about in groups
of 5 to 10 in a row every few minutes.

Even stopping the backup does not correct the problem.  The only fix
seems to be to restart Windows.  Then the process repeats, the backups
run fine for two to three weeks and the problem repeats.  As a test, I
have shutdown Tivoli on one of the servers and it ran fine for four
weeks without the problem occurring.  

Does anyone have any ideas?

In the dsmerror.log on the client, the following messages will appear
every twenty minutes or so:
