You can also override txngroupmax on a node-by-node basis, lowering it for
those nodes going over a slow-speed network.  This can help prevent your
recovery log from filling up.

I don't see why this would not be good for server storage.  It will help to
save storage on your server.  However, you *may* not want to enable tape
drive compression, depending on your tape technology.  Some tapes (e.g.,
DLT) can actually expand data somewhat with their compression
algorithm.  In my experience, it's not expanded by much.  If you turn
compression on for all of your clients (as we do), then you may not want to
use tape compression for tape.  LTO's compression is more intelligent (I am
told) and will not use compression where it is not helpful.
