Re: BMR restore Win2000

Another thing to concider is the partitions. Was the original install done
with the IBM CD's? I think that a small partition is created in addition to
the boot partition. Then if you just used the Windows install CD's to do the
BMR, the information in BOOT.INI wouldn't match. Before doing the restore of
the C: drive, save the boot.ini file and compare it after the restore.

Subject: BMR restore Win2000
Hello There
I am trying to do a BMR (Bare Metal Restore) , to WIN2000 server.
meaning Restore a Complete server to Another Machine.
The machines are IDENTICAL IBM X-345 Model , with Raid controller 5I .
I install the same OS (WIN2000 SP4) . (same Machine name , same Disk
label)
restore C:\* -subdir=yes -replace=all -verbose Works fine
Restore systemobject -verbose Works fine
Reboot the machine and a Blue screen pop up with message
INACCESSIBEL_BOOT_DEVICE
has anyone Success to do the above at Machine with RAID controller ?
Please help
Thanks
