Re: TSM Client 5.2.3 for XP Pro

My TSM Server is at 5.1.6.3
I was able to run the "backup asr" command and it worked fine. The system
performed an ASR and Tivoli created the ASR directory under /adsm.sys
I also ran the command "q filespace" and was able to see an ASR and TSMASR
filespace. I still cannot see the ASR on the tree in the GUI Backup
screen. However, I was able to create an ASR diskette, now that the ASR and
TSMASR filespaces exist.
Within the next few weeks, I will upgrading my TSM server to the latest.
Thanks for the info.
Chris.

At a TSM command prompt type "backup ASR" and see what happens. Also is
your TSM server at V5.2. as well?
I just installed a V5.2.3.0 Client on my WinXP Pro SP2 laptop and connected
to my TSM server running V5.2.2.3. I launched the Client GUI, entered my
password and clicked on the backup button and I see "Automated System
Recovery" as an option I can click on in the tree.

Hello All,
I'm starting to test the TSM ASR functionality of XP. When I use the
Backup/Archive GUI (Ver5.2.3) client on an XP Pro workstation, I do not see
the ASR (Automated System Recovery) entry on the tree list . I also cannot
find any of the ASR related files
(asr.sif,asrpnp.sif,tsmasr.cmd,waitforevent.exe,tsmasr.op) which should be
in the c:\adsm.sys\ASR directory.
The XP Pro workstation has the SP2 update.
I can manually create an ASR diskette using the MS Backup utility, so I
don't believe the problem is within MS.
Any ideas?
Chris.
