Re: TSM Client 5.2.3 for XP Pro

I have tested ASR on XP Pro, had none of the problems you describe.
I see the ASR entry on the tree list, have a subdir for ASR in adsm.sys.
The files went to a separate filespace on the server named ASR.
My XP Pro is SP1, though.
Just an idea, don't know if it matters:
1) Are you logged in with a Windows id that has admin rights?
2) Does your TSM server show client platform=5.01 for this node?

Subject: TSM Client 5.2.3 for XP Pro
Hello All,
I'm starting to test the TSM ASR functionality of XP. When I use the
Backup/Archive GUI (Ver5.2.3) client on an XP Pro workstation, I do not see
the ASR (Automated System Recovery) entry on the tree list . I also cannot
find any of the ASR related files
(asr.sif,asrpnp.sif,tsmasr.cmd,waitforevent.exe,tsmasr.op) which should be
in the c:\adsm.sys\ASR directory.
The XP Pro workstation has the SP2 update.
I can manually create an ASR diskette using the MS Backup utility, so I
don't believe the problem is within MS.
Any ideas?
Chris.
