You can backup the TSM DB to devclass of type file.

I was under the impression that the TSM database MUST be backed up to
tape. Is this true?
Also, does anyone know of tape emulator software only? (without having
to purchase a new disk array with that feature) We are running TSM
5.1.5 on Red Hat Linux 2.4.19.
