Is 'disable sess' what your looking for?

DISABLE SESSIONS
DISABLE SESSIONS (Temporarily Prevent Client Node Access to the Server)
Use this command to prevent client nodes from starting new sessions;
however, active sessions will complete. Server processes, such as migration
and reclamation, are not affected when you issue this command.
Privilege Class
To issue this command, you must have system privilege or operator privilege.
Syntax
>>-DISAble SESSions--------------------------------------------><
Parameters
None.

We want to test a TSM disaster recovery server.

Administrative schedules can be made inactive..............but is there
a way of suspending scheduled backups of clients?
