Hi Luc !
You can use either Data Protection for WebSphere Application 5.2 or 5.2.2.
It is actually a plugin that you add to your Backup/Archive client.
.
Please check the B/A client book at:
.
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/tividd/td/TSMC/GC32-0788-04/en_US/PDF/ans60000.pdf
.
chapter 4
Backing up the WebSphere Application Server (WAS)

"We recommend that BA Client and WAS backups are all done with the same
node name.

We recommend that the user exclude the WebSphere config and properties
directories (they are under the was root installation) from their normal BA
Client backups. This includes all copies of WebSphere on a machine
(instances
and coexistence installs for example).
For example (on Windows), if a WebSphere Application server has a default
install on the C:\ drive:
      exclude "C:\Program Files\WebSphere\AppServer\config\...\*"
      exclude "C:\Program Files\WebSphere\AppServer\properties\...\*"

We recommend that the serverindex.xml, wsinstance.config, and security.xml
files are backed up with the BA Client. These files contain information
that
is essential when a WebSphere environment has to be rebuilt. In a disaster
recovery situation these files can be restored and referenced to aid the
customer in recreating their WebSphere environment."
.
There is no tdp for the Websphere portal. And it does not seem to have any
plan
to have one. However, you may check in the Websphere, you can use
XMLAccess.sh :
.
"WebSphere Portal configuration extraction
Enter the following command to extract the WebSphere Portal configuration
to an XML file:
> cd /opt/WebSphere/PortalServer/bin

> ./XMLAccess.sh <export-xml> <wpsadmin-id>:<wpsadmin-pw>
<hostname:port/portalcontexturl/config> <xml-output-filename>
where:
?<export-xml> contains the commands to export the portal. See 4.1:
Generating a full
export for a sample export.xml file.
<wpsadmin-id> is the portal administrator user ID.
?<wpsadmin-pw> is the portal administrator password.
?<hostname:port/portalcontexturl/config > is the URL the XMLAccess will use
to extract the configuration, which is <hostname>:80/wps/config by default.
?<xml-output-filename> contains the exported data
You can also back up the portlet customization data for each user by
constructing an export-xml file
that exports only this data. You need a full export file to construct such
an XML file. See 4.1:
Generating a full export for an example of constructing such an XML file."
.
Best Regards, Steve
